Process-grade Bourdon tube gauges are specified where the medium is corrosive, the temperature is high, the case must survive a plant environment and a sudden failure must not endanger operators. Tube, socket and case are stainless steel, with 316L as standard and Alloy C or Monel for chlorides, sour service and other aggressive media.

Ranges cover vacuum and compound scales up to 0–1,600 bar, with an overpressure capability of 1.3 times full scale. Accuracy is Class 1.0 or Class 1.6, and the process temperature range is −40 to +200 °C. Connections are G, NPT, R, M12 or M20 male threads with lower, lower-back or centre-back mounting to suit direct, panel or surface installation.

The case options are what set this class apart: solid-front construction with a blowout disc so that a tube rupture vents away from the operator, liquid-filled cases that damp pulsation and vibration on pump and compressor lines, restrictors, and panel or surface flanges. Optional SPDT or DPDT switch contacts provide a local alarm.

These gauges are used throughout oil and gas, refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, power generation and water treatment, often combined with a diaphragm seal for slurries, crystallising media or very high temperatures.
