Advanced Class Pressure and Differential Pressure Transmitters

Where the measurement feeds a custody transfer meter, a safety function or a tightly controlled reaction, the advanced class transmitter is specified. It shares the piezoresistive design with the other classes but adds a wider gauge and absolute range to 1,378 bar (static 1,655 bar), ±0.04 % of span accuracy with ±0.025 % for DP, and 100:1 turndown that lets a single model cover almost any range on site.

Communication options are 4–20 mA HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS and WirelessHART, the last being the practical choice for retrofits on tank farms and remote wellheads where cabling is costly. Advanced diagnostics monitor the loop and the instrument itself and feed condition-based maintenance instead of fixed calibration intervals.

Connections are threaded, flanged, manifold-ready or remote seal, with process temperatures to +400 °C via seals. Wetted parts are 316L stainless steel, Alloy C-276, tantalum or gold-plated. Options include an LCD display, manifolds, remote seals, mounting brackets, special coatings and hazardous-area approvals.

Applications include DP flow with high turndown, level and density in reactors and columns, high-pressure pipelines and hydraulic systems in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, refining and power generation.
