Mechanical Level Gauge (Float and Board – TLQ-W Series)

The classic storage-tank gauge: a float inside the tank, a wire over pulleys and a target that moves along a graduated board on the outside of the tank, visible from the ground. TLQ-W series for atmospheric tanks to 25 m, −20 to +80 °C, 316 stainless steel float, wires and pulleys, aluminium or 316 scale.
Mechanical Level Gauge (Float and Board – TLQ-W Series)
The float and board gauge is the most economical level indication for a large atmospheric tank, and one that never fails for lack of power or a signal. A float on the liquid surface is connected by wire over pulleys at the tank roof to a target that slides on a graduated board fixed to the tank shell; the target moves down as the level rises, and the reading is taken from the ground with the naked eye or binoculars. Guide wires keep the float in position, and a spring compensates the wire weight.
The TLQ-W series covers tanks to 25 m at atmospheric pressure and −20 to +80 °C. Float, wires and pulleys are 316 stainless steel, and the scale board is aluminium or 316 stainless steel with graduations in metres or the customer's units. Guide wires, pulleys, springs, brackets and a manhole flange for installation through an existing tank opening are supplied as accessories.
Indication is visual only; for a signal see the float and tape gauge, which carries a transmitter, or pair the tank with a radar or hydrostatic transmitter and keep the board as the independent check.
Applications are fuel tanks, chemical storage tanks, water storage and effluent tanks in oil and gas, chemical, food, water treatment and storage facilities.
