Sight Glass Flow Indicator

A window in the line that shows whether fluid is moving. Sizes ½" to 8", threaded or flanged, to 25 bar and 130 °C, with a rotating paddle or a hanging chain that makes flow visible even for clear liquids. Materials from carbon steel and 316 to PVC and Moplen.
Sight Glass Flow Indicator
The sight glass flow indicator answers the simplest question on a plant: is there flow? A toughened glass window in a metal or plastic body shows the fluid, and an internal paddle, which rotates in the stream, or a chain that lifts with flow, makes even a clear, bubble-free liquid visibly moving. Operators use it to confirm that a pump has primed, a cooling line is open, a lubrication feed is running or a drain is clear.
Indicators are available from ½" to 8" with threaded or flanged connections, for flows from 200 L/h to 100 m³/h at pressures up to 25 bar and temperatures up to 130 °C. Bodies are carbon steel, AISI 304 or 316 for process and utility lines, or PVC, Moplen and other plastics for corrosive and treated water. Double-window designs allow back-lighting.
The output is visual only; where a signal is needed, pair the indicator with a paddle flow switch, or specify a large variable area flowmeter to read the actual rate.
Sight glass indicators are found in chemical, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical and energy plants and across general industry, particularly on cooling water, seal water, condensate return and sampling lines.
